“Every kid is one caring adult away from a success story”
-John Shipp
Honey from the Rock - the Cleveland Foster Care Closet is a donation-driven nonprofit, born from a great need that Kathy DiVincenzo, executive director, knew first-hand as a licensed foster parent.
We are an all-volunteer-run organization that is dedicated to providing quality items for daily living for children of all ages who are experiencing foster care or recently reunified with their family.
We are based in Cuyahoga County, but we serve children and families throughout the state of Ohio.
Inspired by the call to "serve one another humbly in love" (Galatians 5:13), we are committed to being a source of support during times of transition and uncertainty.
We are here to serve, uplift, and walk alongside foster families — not as a charity, but as a community of people who believe in the power of kindness and humility to make a difference. At Honey from the Rock, we strive to be a steady, supportive presence, offering help where it is needed most, and doing so with humble hearts.

Why “Honey from the Rock?”
Our name is inspired by a powerful biblical promise found in Deuteronomy 32:13, which says,
"…He nourished him with honey from the rock…"
This passage reminds us that even in the hardest and most unexpected places, God can bring forth sweetness and provision. Just as honey can miraculously flow from the most unlikely sources, we are committed to being a source of unexpected kindness, strength, and nourishment for those in need.
Our mission is to offer a sense of belonging and dignity through free clothing, supplies, and resources for foster, kinship, and biological families. We know that stepping into that role or transitioning to a new home can be challenging, and we are here to ease that journey with tangible support, love, and grace.
At Honey from the Rock, we believe that even in the toughest circumstances, there is hope, there is sweetness, and there is care — just as God brings forth honey from the rock.
